Mares was the last we know of to bring out their own octo inflator regulator. We're glad that they did because they've thought of things that the other manufacturers have forgotten about. We love the fact they've added their mesh grid to the bottom allowing water to pass through efficiently without allowing free-flowing. The buttons are not only color coordinated but they also have a texture on the inflate button, enough to feel through thick gloves. We're glad they did this because experienced divers don't look at the power inflator, they just grab and push the buttons from memory. Since you can now feel the buttons, it makes it easier to ensure you're pushing the right button.
